The Padres signed Ambres as a minor league six-year free agent in November, 2007.
Ambres hit .274 with 23 doubles, 21 homers, 71 RBIs and 80 runs scored over 120 games with Triple-A New Orleans in 2007. He drew 71 walks compared to 107 strikeouts and posted a .379 on-base percentage. He also stole seven bases in as many attempts.
Ambres played in three games with the New York Mets in '07, going 1-for-3 with an RBI. |
