Signed by Seattle as a non-drafted free agent out of Venezuela on July 2, 2001; signed by Mariners scout Emilio Carresquel.
2004 Highlights:
Moved back to role as reliever with Inland Empire, sporting a stellar 2.29 ERA in 43 appearances as a 19-year-old with the 66ers
Went 6-7, but had a 81-to-19 strikeout-to-walk ratio
Solidified himself as the top reliever in the M's minor league system
2003 Highlights:
Started 20 games at Wisconsin, appearing in 28 overall, and went 8-11 with a 2.94 ERA
Went 3-0 with a 0.49 ERA and 17 strikeouts in eight releif appearances
