Drafted by Seattle in the 30th round (910th overall) of the 2002 amateur draft.

2004 Highlights:
  • Hit .283 at High-A Inland Empire with 7 home runs 9 doubles and 3 triples before earning a midseason promotion to Double-A San Antonio
  • While with the Missions the right fielder put up almost identical stats, batting .264 with 7 home runs, 9 doubles, 4 triples and 29 RBI
  • Combined for 12 stolen bases, 6 at each affiliate
