Drafted by Atlanta in the 11th round in 2003. ... Traded to Philadelphia for C Johnny Estrada, 12/20/02. ... Signed with Cleveland as a free agent, 1/9/05.
Went 7-0 with a 1.93 ERA in nine starts at Class AAA Richmond in 1997 to earn a callup to Atlanta. ... Made MLB debut 7/14/97 against Philadelphia and got the victory, pitching two scoreless innings of middle relief. ... Went 5-3 in 1997 for the Braves and followed that with seasons of 17-8 and 18-7. ... Pitched a one-hitter in his MLB postseason debut, 10/6/99 vs. Houston. ... Went 10-13 in 2000 and then missed part of the 2001 season with a shoulder injury, going just 7-7 in 21 games. ... Bounced back in 2002 to go 18-8 with a 3.24 ERA.
Pitched a no-hitter against San Francisco, 4/27/03, in his sixth start after signing as a free agent with Phillies. ... Went 14-12 in 2003, but was sidelined much of the second half of 2004 with a strained right elbow and went 9-6 with a career-high 4.86 ERA.
