Drafted by Seattle in the supplemental 1st round (36th overall) of the 2001 June draft with the pick awarded to the Mariners after the free agent departure of Alex Rodriguez.

2004 Highlights:
  • Missed the first two months of the season with a wrist injury, but came back to bat .226 in 234 at bats with the Inland Empire 66ers
  • Played both shortstop and second base in his first stop at High-A
  • Had 12 doubles, 3 triples, 1 home run and 26 RBI for the 66ers
  • Commited 17 errors in 70 games

  • 2003 Highlights:
  • Batted .243 with 2 HR, 38 RBI and 14 SB at Wisconsin
  • Made 50 errors in 122 games, all played at shortstop
  • Had a season-high nine-game hitting streak from July 26-Aug. 4, hitting .400 (14-35) with six runs, two doubles, six RBI and five stolen bases
  • Ripped a season-high four hits on Aug. 15
  • Hit safely in 8 of the Timber Rattlers final 12 games
