2004 Role:
With his days as a starter behind him, Adams will pitch
strictly from the bullpen in ’04. Adams was a solid late-inning reliever in
Philadelphia in 2003, and should take over the same role in Toronto.
Strengths:
Terry throws a deceptively hard fastball. He keeps it in the
low 90’s, but can hit 93-95 if he really rares back. He throws an excellent
slider, which is especially tough on left-handed hitters. Adams is a groundball
pitcher, and keeps the ball in the park.
Weaknesses:
Adams has a difficult time keeping focused whenever runners
get on. He doesn’t possess much of a pick-off move, and is a well below-average
fielder.
